Nollywood Actor Ogogo Battles Stage 4 Cancer as Family Seeks Help

Veteran Nigerian actor Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo, is battling stage-four cancer as his family seeks urgent medical intervention to save his life.
His daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, made separate public appeals on Instagram on Aug. 17, 2026, revealing that doctors stopped chemotherapy treatments because of the severity of his illness.
The daughters said they are not soliciting financial donations. Instead, they are searching for oncology specialists or healthcare facilities willing to take over the 66-year-old actor’s medical care.
“He has cancer, and it’s really, really bad, and the hospitals are refusing to treat him,” Lima said in an emotional video message. “At least, please, give this man a chance.”
The family learned the true scale of the diagnosis about three weeks ago. Until recently, Hassan’s physical appearance gave little indication of advanced illness, according to his family.

Kira disclosed in a follow-up video that doctors told the family they can no longer administer chemotherapy. She urged cancer specialists, medical centers, or alternative healthcare practitioners capable of managing terminal cases to step forward.
“If you can treat my daddy, if you can start chemo for him, whether it’s medical or herbs, please, I’m begging you guys,” Kira said, adding that her father had expressed fears over his deteriorating state.
Hassan is one of Nollywood’s most recognized figures, with a screen career spanning over four decades and more than 300 film appearances.
Neither Hassan’s management nor his doctors have publicly specified the primary location of the cancer or the name of the facility where he previously received care.
